Paragon has won two prestigious housebuilding awards in 2007:

  • The Best New Development in the Affordable Homes Sector at the 2007 prestigious Evening Standard New Homes Awards
  • Major Housing Project of the Year Award at the 2007 Building Awards.

Evening Standard New Homes Awards

The Evening Standard New Homes Awards recognise excellence across the housing spectrum, from first-time buyer flats to one-off luxury mansions and from new-build properties to conversions. Homes are judged according to criteria including design flair, eco-friendliness, innovation, quality of finish, location and use of space. Above all, winners have to demonstrate 'value for money'.

Paragon's success at this awards was announced on 18 May 2007.

Building Magazine Awards

The Building Magazine Awards, held this year on 18 April, reward best practice, innovation and excellence in construction. The Major Housing Project of the Year category, which Paragon won, acknowledges a residential project which is not only an exemplar of modern housebuilding but also pushes the boundaries in terms of quality of design and building.

The judges commented: "The site had previously defied development but Berkeley First devised an innovative combination of affordable homes, student accommodation and jobs for more than 300 people and made it stack up. The resulting building is sustainable, well finished and a shining example of good neighbour relations. In short, a landmark for the rest of the industry to follow".
