Some of you may have experience of sharing a building and its facilities with many other people. However, please note the following general guidelines which help to minimise tensions and make life in student accommodation pleasant and enjoyable for everyone. Please:
- remember that Paragon is a strictly non-smoking residence
- be aware of the needs of other people
- avoid carelessness that could jeopardise your own health and safety or that of other people
- comply with the rules and the instructions of residence staff
- familiarise yourself with all conditions of your Licence, particularly Sections 11 and 12 and Appendices 2 and 3: these are prescriptive guidelines but we know that in the end they work for the benefit of the majority of residents
- note that prejudice on the basis of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation is unacceptable.
Noise
All residents and guests are expected to be quiet and considerate when in the courtyard or any communal areas. Further, no noise should be heard outside your room at any time, but particularly during the designated quiet hours from 11.00 pm to 8.00 am.
Private parties are not permitted anywhere within the residence. If you are meeting friends from elsewhere, please do so in the common room, showing due consideration for other users.
Games, skates and skateboards
Ball games, skateboards and skates are strictly prohibited everywhere on site.
